EBU Council Meeting, March 11-12, 2006, Paris

 

Besides new initiatives on our website and the presentation of a draft for an "EBU Booklet", further steps will be taken in the project "Global Buddhism" by intensifying contacts with the Federation of "Australian Buddhist Councils", by contacts with the "World Buddhist Forum" to take place in China this April and by intensifying contacts with the World Buddhist Fellowship concerning the Conference in Taiwan.

Our membership drive has already brought back into our community some former members, like the Buddhist Unions of Belgium and Switzerland and looks rather promising as far as the application of new members is concerned.

The cooperation among members of the new and enlarged council is gaining momentum and a number of activities are being scheduled for the period April to June.

The meeting was concluded on Sunday in a warm and productive atmosphere which helped to overcome the freezing temperatures in sunny Paris.
